Guide to E-NERYC Yahoo Group
What is the
Yahoo E-NERYC Email List?
The NERYC Yahoo
Groups Email list is a private mailing group within the Yahoo Groups system.
The function of this group is to facilitate communication between members
about Club related matters. Membership of this email group is essential if
you want to keep up with Club events and activities.
The list is open
only to NERYC members and their spouses. It is free of external (and
hopefully internal) spam mail. Currently (Febt 2007) the list contains 163
email addresses of members and spouses.
How Do I Start
Receiving E-NERYC Email?
When you first
join the Club, the membership chairperson will send me your Last name, First
name, and email address. Members and spouse can have separate email
addresses. I will send you an invitation through Yahoo to join the listing.
When you accept, you are automatically put on the email list and you will
start receiving NERYC email. You are encouraged to use this system to
contribute your ideas and information on boating activities.
If you have been a
member for some time but are not on the Email list, simply
email me the information listed above and I will send you an
invitation. If you change your Email address, please let me know so that I
can update the list.
Being on the NERYC
yahoo Email list will give you access to all NERYC Email commuications. For
many members this is sufficient. However, to get access to the Yahoo web
features on the E-NERYC web site (old emails, BOG Minutes, photos, polls)
you also will need a Yahoo ID and password. Therefore, we highly recommend
that all NERYC members sign up for a Yahoo ID.
Please follow the
separate “Web Access” instructions below for obtaining a Yahoo account and
linking it to your email address.

How do I set up
my Yahoo Groups account for Web Access?
To get access to
NERYC Yahoo Web features (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/E-NERYC/ )
you will need to register for a Yahoo! ID and link it to an email address
you wish to use for Yahoo! Groups.
Registering for
Yahoo ID

Open http://groups.yahoo.com/
on your Browser and Click on the "Click here to Register " link in the
sign-in area (Left side).

Complete the
registration form and click on Submit This Form. (uncheck the "Special
offers" box if you do not want commercial "offers".)

Note: The Yahoo!
ID you choose must be unique. It does not need to match your email address
ID.

You should
receive an email confirming your registration. Make sure to record your
Yahoo ID and password. You will need these to sign into Yahoo Groups web
pages.
Linking Your
Yahoo Account to the NERYC Email List
Join via the
group page.

Open your
browser and go to:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/E-NERYC/

Enter your email
address in the Subscribe to NERYC box and Click on the Join Now
button. Within minutes you will receive an automatic email from Yahoo at
the email address you specified. Reply to this message by simply hitting
Reply and Send in your email program.

Set your
membership preferences. When you join, you can choose a profile you'd like
to display to the group.

Select the email
address at which you'd like to receive group messages etc.

You can change
your profile (including your preferred email address) at any time by going
to the E-NERYC website and clicking on Edit Membership near the top of the
page.

you may unsubscribe by sending an email to
E-NERYC-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com
