The NERYC Spring Series wrapped up on Saturday, June 21. We had hoped for a double header on Saturday to make up for a race postponed earlier in the spring due to poor weather, but this was not to be. Frustrating light winds were the prevalent condition, and that along with the ominous storm forming over the river as the final boats crossed the finish line caused the final race to be canceled.

Also, the trimaran Silver Star completed the "B" fleet course.  Silver Star's corrected time was 1:43:09

 

After the race, the post series picnic was held on the NERYC patio and lawn, and was a great success thanks to the efforts of all the racers who provided food, deserts, and a great deal of enthusiasm!

 

Special thanks are due to Doug Cain and the crew of Bad Boy, who handled the grilling of the burgers, and to Frank Wile for providing the lawn awning, Race Committee member Dick Johnston for handling the scoring, and to Race Committee member Paul Cranny for logistics help and for retrieving the race mark along with Doug Cain. Also VERY special thanks are due to Cindy Hoffman for much effort in coordinating the picnic, and to Club manager Ken Johnson for much cooperation and assistance.
